Below I will list a series of topics and then expand on each of them. Feel free to jump straight to any of them that interest you most. Nowadays, every type of business needs to be online. The overwhelming majority of businesses do not need to post several times a week on social media; Internet advertising is different from gaining likes and followers; Evaluating the success of an online media campaign by the number of likes and shares of a post is completely amateurish and lacks basic knowledge; Online advertising is different from digital marketing. 1. NOWADAYS, EVERY TYPE OF BUSINESS NEEDS TO BE ON THE INTERNET Whether for credibility, necessity or even strategy. You can choose not to advertise on TV. But if you don't want to be on the internet, people will put you there. Like this? People can create an “unofficial” profile of your company and start talking about it. And there's nothing you can do other than join in the fun.
Even that neighborhood butcher shop that “everyone number database already knows” needs to at least have a page on Google My Business so when people want to find the address, phone number, see reviews and other information. But what if I don't want to be evaluated? Go back to the first paragraph of this topic. 2. THE OVERWHELMING MAJORITY OF BUSINESSES DO NOT NEED TO POST SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK ON SOCIAL MEDIA Do you know why the agency you pay to post 3X a week for your business doesn't post 3X a week for itself? Because that doesn't work. It's that simple. The consistency and frequency of posts on social media must be coherent and aligned with the volume of sales and real interaction that this generates for the business. That thing where they told you that a company's Instagram profile needs to post every day or at least 2 or 3 times a week? This is just a justification for being able to sell a monthly service that you or your business don't need.

Your company is not a digital influencer, don't try to be one, you will spend time, energy and expectations on this and you won't get anywhere. But when do I need to post multiple times? When this is bringing you quality contacts, what I call real interaction. That is, potential customers for your business. There's no point in getting comments from children if your audience is adults. But what would be an alternative? See the next topic. 3. ADVERTISING ON THE INTERNET IS DIFFERENT FROM GAINING LIKES AND FOLLOWERS. BUT THEN, WHAT'S THE SECRET? If you are a company and not a digital influencer, run monthly or even bi-monthly campaigns. A post or series of posts promoting a specific service/product or promotion and set up ADVERTISING ! A company makes advertisements, a digital influencer makes cute posts to “pop” organically. Being clear about this difference prevents you from wasting money with amateur agencies and companies that can mislead you.
