On my side, the update did not break Office itself; it only left the activation status stuck in a half-finished state. I checked the account first, because sometimes Office simply signs into the wrong profile after updates. For that setup, Activator Office restored the activation state pretty quickly, and I did not have to remove Word, Excel, or Outlook. The best part was keeping all custom settings untouched, including templates, recent files, and toolbar changes. I only had to restart once afterward, then the apps opened normally and the warning stopped appearing.
