I've been considering upgrading our crate system for a while now and plastic nestable crates keep coming up as a recommendation from people in similar businesses to ours, mainly because of the space efficiency when the crates are empty and being stored or transported back after deliveries. The conveyor/automation issue is real but it really depends on your setup. If you're doing manual handling like us, nesting works great. Automated sorting is a different story, worth asking the supplier specifically about that before switching.

But if you've got automated sorting lines built around rigid crate dimensions, retrofitting all that is expensive and probably not worth the space savings alone.

The wear on flexible walls is real but slower than we expected, most of ours are still structurally fine after heavy daily use. On the pallet question, we specifically asked for UAE standard pallet dimensions upfront and that saved us a lot of headache later, definitely worth clarifying before you commit to a full changeover.
