Ulysse Nardin - FreakLab Boutique Edition
Since its launch in 2001, the Freak collection has showcased Ulysse Nardin's pioneering spirit in watchmaking with its exceptional quality. To name just a few innovations, the Freak collection pioneered the use of a silicon escapement in 2001, a diamond escapement in 2005, and the double Ulysse escapement in the same year.
At Baselworld 2015, the Le Locle-based watchmaker unveiled the latest masterpiece in the FreakLab collection. Compared to previous models, the FreakLab repositions the balance wheel at the center of the dial and introduces a date display and the UlyChoc safety system—a new generation of shock-resistant devices designed, developed, and manufactured in-house by Ulysse Nardin.
Now, Ulysse Nardin announces the FreakLab Boutique Limited Edition, with only 99 pieces available worldwide. This limited edition retains all of FreakLab's technical specifications and utilizes special materials such as carbon fiber and blackened titanium.
The bezel is made of carbon fiber, while the case middle and lugs are crafted from black titanium. The case diameter is 45mm.
The rotating bezel is released via a safety clip at 6 o'clock. Clockwise rotation sets the hours and minutes, while counter-clockwise rotation sets the date.
The bezel on the case back winds the mainspring barrel, ensuring a 7-day power reserve. One rotation corresponds to 12 hours of power reserve.
The two bezels are part of the UN-210 movement, which vibrates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, employs a double escapement mechanism, and is made of silicon, requiring no lubrication.
The black leather strap is adorned with a carbon fiber texture, echoing the bezel.
