I definitely went down the “custom route” for my sim space last winter, and I’m glad I did. What helped was getting a proper custom golf simulator enclosure tailored to my room dimensions. I measured carefully: width, height, depth — and included some extra clearance around the hitting zone. The difference was huge. The screen fit perfectly, no loose edges, and the impact felt solid. I also added padding behind the screen so occasional mis-hits didn’t bounce the ball crazy or damage anything. It didn’t feel like a slapped-together weekend project, but more like a proper installation — stable, centered, and roomy enough that my swing never felt restricted. I even drilled a mount into ceiling beams after pre-checking the layout to make sure everything lines up. My advice: double-check your wall alignment and floor level before you place your order, and leave at least a few extra inches around the screen edges — it gives you wiggle room if you revisit layout later. If you skip that, you risk ending up with a screen that’s either too tight or too loose, and neither is fun when you’re swinging full-power drives indoors.
