I’m trying to decide whether I should switch to a track-style actuator for a sliding storage platform in my shed. I’ve mostly used tubular actuators before, but they sometimes twist a bit under load, especially when the weight isn’t perfectly centered. Last week the platform jammed halfway because the actuator flexed just enough to throw things out of alignment. Now I’m wondering if a track setup would solve that issue or if it brings its own headaches. If anyone has compared the two in real projects, I’d love to hear what actually mattered day-to-day.
