Banco Popular has disappeared, but it was bought by Banco Santander, which is the one who assumes that responsibility.

Who can claim? All those retailers (natural or legal persons) who acquired some of the aforementioned products , within the period in which the Bank's serious solvency problems were not known. However, we must differentiate between those who bought in 2016 , in the bank's capital increase, who would have an action for annulment due to a defect in the consent derived from fraud or error. And those who bought in a secondary market , after the capital increase and before the resolution of the Popular in June 2017, who could request compensation for damages, according to the Securities Market Law. How much can I recover? After the liquidation of Banco Popular and its subsequent sale to Santander in June 2017, for one euro, many shareholders and investors lost all their money in various financial products .
